António Pedro de Brito Lopes

António Pedro de Brito Lopes (born 23 July 1979), commonly known as Toni, is a Portuguese professional footballer who plays as a right back.
He began at Lusitano Évora but established himself as young talent at Farense, gaining a move to Benfica in 2002. His spell there was not successful and he moved teams three times before settling in Cyprus, where he spent eight seasons, passing through four different teams, with greater notability in Apollon Limassol.
==Club career==
Born in Setúbal, Toni grew up in the neighbourhood of Bela Vista and started playing football at Pelezinhos. At 15-years old, he moved to Vitória Setúbal, where he finished his youth career. In his first year as professional, he played at Lusitano Évora in the third tier, finishing his first year in fourth and earning promotion in his second.
In July 2000, Toni made the move to the Primeira Liga and joined Farense. He made his debut in the top tier on 29 October and assisted the second goal in a 2–1 win against Estrela da Amadora. His performances soon attracted interest from Braga and Sevilla. In the summer, Toni was linked to Southampton, Paris Saint-Germain, and West Ham United, but ultimately signed with Benfica on a alleged free deal.
However, it was soon discovered that Toni had signed with a investment firm, Premier Holding owned by Mike Walsh. They retained his international certificate and did not allowed him to play for Benfica until they received 650 thousand dollars. Only in January 2002, after FIFA intervened, that Toni was allowed to play, first in the reserve team and then in the main team, making his first and only appearance on the last match-day, on 5 May 2002.
In July 2002, Benfica involved him and Diogo Luís in a loan deal to Beira-Mar, in exchange for Cristiano Roland, who moved in the opposite direction. In his first year, he was regularly used in the starting line-up, but in 2003–04, he appeared much more sparingly after losing his place to Ribeiro. He continued his career at Servette, and later Zamora of the Spanish Segunda División B. In 2007, Toni moved to Cyprus and began a eight-year career on the Cypriot First Division, representing four clubs, the larger of those being Apollon Limassol, where he won the 2012–13 Cypriot Cup.
